FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How BidBridge Texas works for project owners and contractors, what it costs, and how your information stays private.

For project owners

Is BidBridge Texas free for project owners?

Yes. Posting a project, receiving responses and connecting with contractors are always free for project owners, with no obligation to hire. Contractors pay a success fee only when they win a job.

What kinds of projects can I post?

Commercial projects of any size anywhere in Texas: office, retail, restaurant and medical buildouts, warehouses, and trade work across 25 commercial trades, from electrical and HVAC to roofing, paving and fire protection. There is no minimum project size. Residential remodels and handyman jobs are not accepted.

Can I get a price without drawings or plans?

Yes. When you post, you say what you have so far. With just an idea, contractors send a ballpark estimate. With a defined scope (sizes, quantities, materials) they send a quote, like an RFQ. With drawings and specs they send firm bids, and you can ask for proposals, like an RFP, when the approach and team matter as much as price. You can switch to firm bids later, once your plans are ready.

How quickly will I hear from contractors?

Most projects get responses within 48 hours of approval. After you post, our team reviews your project and invites up to 3 verified contractors for your trade and city.

Will contractors get my phone number or email?

No. Your phone number, email and street address stay private until you choose to connect with a specific contractor. If you confirm a site visit, only that contractor gets the street address.

Do I have to hire through BidBridge Texas?

No. Once you connect with a contractor, the contract, schedule and payment are between you and them. BidBridge Texas is an introduction platform and is not a party to the project.

For contractors

How do I join?

Apply free at /apply with your business details, trades, service areas, license and insurance. Our team reviews every application; license numbers for regulated trades are checked in the state database (TDLR for electrical and HVAC, TSBPE for plumbing, the State Fire Marshal for fire protection). Verification usually takes 24–48 hours.

How do I get projects?

Our team reviews each project and invites up to 3 verified contractors whose trades and service areas fit. You get an email alert and see the project in Matched Jobs, including what the owner is asking for: an estimate, quote, firm bid or proposal.

What if I can’t price a project as posted?

Ask the owner a question, request a site walk with up to 3 suggested times, or pass with a reason such as "need drawings". The owner sees how many contractors passed and why, never who.

Can I change my price after I respond?

Yes. While your response is under review and the project is open, you can revise it. Your earlier version stays on record and the owner is told you revised it. If the owner changes the project, you get a numbered addendum by email.

Pricing & fees

What does a contractor pay?

Nothing to join, get matched or respond. After winning a job, the contractor pays a success fee based on the final contract value: a flat $150 under $10,000, 2% from $10,000 to $100,000, and a tiered rate above $100,000 (2% of the first $100K, 1.5% from $100K to $400K, 1% above $400K).

Is there a monthly subscription?

No subscription is ever required. Contractors can add optional upgrades: Verified Pro at $49 per month (founding price $29 per month locked in for the first 25 contractors) and Featured Contractor at $149 per month, which adds top placement on trade-by-city pages, limited to 3 per trade per metro.

Do upgrades affect what owners pay or who gets matched?

Owners never pay, on any plan. Matching is still by trade and service area, reviewed by our team.
